HasLab Origins

Hasbro, the powerhouse behind some of the most iconic toys and games, established HasLab as an inventive platform for bringing dream products to life. This crowd-funding branch of Hasbro goes beyond the usual retail offerings to present fans with unique, larger-than-life collectibles. It's a playground for the imagination, where the possibilities are limited only by the enthusiasm of its backers. HasLab aims to tap into the pulse of the fandom community, soliciting their support to turn the most extraordinary ideas into tangible realities. By pledging funds towards projects they're passionate about, backers can help meet or exceed funding goals, which in turn allows HasLab to move these ambitious projects into production.

Each HasLab project is a bold experiment in the power of community support, offering backers exclusive access to limited edition collectibles that might never see the light of day through traditional retail channels. The success of each project depends entirely on reaching its funding goal within a set timeframe. Fans who back these projects not only get the chance to own a piece of their favorite franchise but also the satisfaction of knowing they helped bring a slice of dream merchandise to fruition.

Funded HasLab Projects:

  1. Jabba’s Sail Barge (The Khetanna): This was the inaugural project of HasLab, and it set the bar high. A detailed model of the iconic "Star Wars" vehicle, it was a massive success, meeting its funding goal with ease.
  2. Unicron: From the "Transformers" universe, this enormous and complex figure of the planet-eating Unicron shattered expectations, becoming one of the most talked-about HasLab projects.
  3. The Mandalorian’s Razor Crest: Following the massive success of "The Mandalorian" on Disney+, the Razor Crest ship model became another crowdfunded success story for HasLab.
  4. Galactus: A towering figure from the Marvel universe, this project catered to comic book enthusiasts and was funded successfully.
  5. HeroQuest Game System: A relaunch of the classic board game, this project proved that tabletop gaming has a passionate and committed audience ready to bring back old favorites.
  6. The Ghostbusters Plasma Series Spengler’s Proton Pack: A high-fidelity replica from the "Ghostbusters" franchise, this project hit its funding target and captured the hearts of paranormal enthusiasts.
  7. Sky Striker: A throwback to the "G.I. Joe" series, the Sky Striker aircraft was a hit with those longing for a piece of their childhood. It was funded at a cost of $229.99
  8. Deathsaurus: Supreme Commander of the Autobots fully funded with 27k backers for a retail price of $179.99 to be released in Fall of 2023.
  9. Cobra H.I.S.S Tank: G.I. Joe Classified Cobra H.I.S.S. tank fully funded in 2023 at a price of $299.99
  10. The Ghost: Star Wars The Vintage Collection Ghost fully funded and planned to ship in 2024 at a cost of $499.99
  11. Giant-Man: Marvel Legends Giant-Man backed by 13k+ backers with an estimated shipping date in Fall of 2024.
  12. Dragonfly: G.I. Joe Classified Series G.I. Joe Assault Copter Dragonfly (XH-1) fully backed by almost 25k backers and set to ship in Summer 2024.

Unfunded HasLab Projects:

  1. Reva (The Third Sister) Force FX Elite Lightsaber as part of the Star Wars The Black Series. Unfortunately, the project did not reach its funding goal, falling significantly short with only 1,413 backers out of the required 5,000. The hefty price tag of $499 might have contributed to the lack of sufficient backing. In addition, Reva's character was just introduced through the Obi-Wan Disney+ series and was too new to gather a fan base, especially not knowing the characters purpose within Star Wars canon.
  2. Cookie Monster Despite the nostalgia it evoked, the Cookie Monster replica failed to garner enough support to move into production.
  3. Victory Saber: This project aimed to bring to life a detailed model of the Victory Saber from the "Transformers" series, but it unfortunately did not meet its funding goal.
  4. Ghost Rider: Engine of Vengeance was not funded with only about half the necessary backers.
  5. Rancor: From the "Star Wars: Return of the Jedi," the Rancor monster project was met with much excitement but fell short of its ambitious funding target. For a project priced at $350, fans found the first two unlocks of a card backed Gamorrean Guard with new deco and a bone accessory pack unsatisfactory. After the live stream update, the project experienced a loss of about 500 backers, dropping from 5,300 to just shy of 4,800, which was a significant setback considering the goal was to reach 9,000 backers.
