Kato presents a detailed review of the PulseCon exclusive GI Joe Classified Series Number 31 Master of Disguise Zartan action figure. The character comes packed in an impressive box featuring beautiful artwork, which is a common feature of PulseCon exclusives. Zartan comes with different head sculpts which can actually be seen through a roller piece on the packaging. Inside, we find multiple accessories such as a sniper rifle, a knife, a bow and arrow, and a backpack. The inclusion of additional items such as arrow quivers, head sculpts, and masks enhances the figure's character-persona. The figure itself carries a color-change feature much similar to the original toy, transforming into a deep blue when subjected to cold temperatures. Despite some loose parts, the quality of articulation aligns with the expected standard of the GI Joe Classified Series.

The Master of Disguise, Zartan, was a beloved character in the G.I. Joe Universe franchise. Its original colour changing figure and swamp speeder have been a fan favourite since the long-gone 1980s. Now, in 2021, a new 6-inch Zartan was released as part of the Classified Series. The character received some rather exciting updates for the October 2021 Hasbro Pulse Con. A deluxe boxed release introduces an alternative Zartan deco and an assortment of weapons and accessories. There's the colour-changing feature from the 1984 figure as well.
Zartan, bearing the number #31 in the series, comes in a closed box with a deep red theme, beautiful cover illustrations of the character, and a gallery of the released G.I. Joe and Cobra characters at the back. The front cover has a rotating wheel that allows you to see the different Zartan impersonations mirroring those that come in the box. The colour scheme of the figure has been updated to match its original colour and includes three extra faces, two alternative heads and a skull mask to broaden the character's disguise experience.
Zartan is more than just a Master of Disguise, he is also loaded with a small arsenal of weapons, including a white bow, a quiver of arrows and a sniper rifle. The figure is highly dynamic with all its 24 joints that allow for various posing options.
The colour-changing feature that was missed in the standard release was included in the exclusive version in the form of a heat-reactive paint. As the temperature drops, Zartan's skin transitions to blue just like the vintage figure. Therefore, the Hasbro Pulse Con Zartan certainly surpasses the general release; its vivid armour and trousers, multiple helpful accessories, and undoubtedly, the colour-changing feature that takes us back to the 1980s.
