REVIEW: Marvel Legends Cull Obsidian Build-A-Figure by marveltoynews.com review sentiment mixed

At first glance, it's evident that the figure's costume doesn't resemble Cull Obsidian's attire in Infinity War, leaning more towards the comic book version with its dark brown/green skin color. Despite this, as a generic alien warrior, the figure holds its own. It comes with two main 'add-on' costume pieces - a piece of shoulder armor and an armored loincloth, fitting well without hindering articulation. Standing over 8 inches tall and having a hefty feel, it impresses with its size. Articulation is decent with various joint movements, though more could be desired, especially when posing with the hammer. The head sculpt is a highlight due to its alien and grotesque appearance, yet a more ferocious expression would have been preferred. Paintwork, while well-done, feels sparse, needing more shading to bring out the details. The figure's hammer is rigid, but getting it into the figure's hands is a bit of a challenge. Despite its beauty and bulkiness, the lack of resemblance to either cinematic or comic book portrayal of Cull Obsidian leaves a sense of incompletion.

Review: Marvel Legends Cull Obsidian (BAF), Avengers Infinity War by www.mephitsu.co.uk review sentiment mixed

The Marvel Legends Cull Obsidian figure is a mixed bag. Although the head sculpt is wonderfully alien and grotesque, showcasing the best paintwork on the figure, the rest of the figure leaves room for improvement. The facial expression could have been more ferocious to align with Cull Obsidian's aggressive nature. The costume doesn't closely match the character's appearance in Infinity War, which may disappoint some fans. Additionally, the figure could benefit from more paint shading to enhance its visual appeal. On a positive note, the articulation is respectable, allowing for various poses, although the hammer-wielding poses are somewhat limited due to the arm articulation. The figure stands impressively tall and has a nice heft, adding to its appeal as a large and imposing alien warrior.

Marvel Legends (Cull Obsidian Wave): Cull Obsidian Build-A-Figure by figurefanzero.com review sentiment mixed

The Cull Obsidian figure from the Marvel Legends line is a bulky, impressive figure, capturing a menacing aura. However, the figure takes on a comic book look rather than a movie-accurate representation, which may not appeal to everyone. The figure, known as Black Dwarf to old school comic fans, is a part of the Black Order, showing up in the movie as well, but with a different look. The figure's design is more aligned with the comic book appearance, possibly leaving movie fans wanting more. Despite this, the figure stands as a formidable representation of a member of the Black Order, offering collectors a glimpse into the character's comic book rendition.
