The Marvel Legends Spider-Punk action figure is a delightful addition to the Spider-Verse lineup, bringing with it a fresh, edgy aesthetic. The figure shares many common traits with previous Spider-Man figures but sets itself apart with new shin parts allowing for calf rotation, a clever design hidden by its new shoes. The intricately sculpted sleeveless jacket and new head sculpt to accommodate the spiky look are fantastic touches, showcasing the punk essence of the character. Spider-Punk comes loaded with accessories including a meticulously designed guitar with worn details, showing that Spider-Punk is not just a figure but a character with a story. It also comes with four hands: a fist, a hand to hold and play the guitar, a “devil horns” hand, and a hand with a sculpted in guitar pick, which is a thoughtful addition. However, the figure is not without its flaws. The paint job, while crisp, could have been improved with some washes or dry brushing to bring out the worn details on the guitar, making it look more realistic. Despite that, Spider-Punk is super-articulated, making posing and play an enjoyable experience. One downside is the loose ankles, particularly the left one, which can make posing a bit challenging. Overall, the Spider-Punk figure is a cool, well-articulated addition to any Spider-Verse display, and the hope is that Hasbro might reuse the guitar accessory for other figures in the future.
