In this Throwback Thursday series, Luke Ness Monster revisits an older figure: No. 94, the Mandalorian, which was initially released in late 2019. The figure had multiple package variants - the red and black box, the limited white box first edition and the carbonized edition exclusive to Target.
The figure's paint applications are impressively detailed, from dirt and weathering on the helmet to silver bullet marks and battle damage on the armor. It also comes with a pistol that fits in the holster and a pulse rifle that fits into the strap on the figure's back. However, the figure's peg hole in the back is an area of improvement, making it challenging to fit the pulse rifle.
As for the figure's articulation, it includes a double ball joint in the neck, 90 degrees elbow movement, gauntlet swivel, and a good range of movement in the legs, despite some restrictions due to the thigh pad.
The figure can be significantly improved by releasing it with accessories, such as the tracking fob, the cam tono, and grogu in pram, which accompanied the figure in the storyline.
Lastly, the original Mandalorian figure still lives up to today's standards. Although it does not have the pinned legs that are more common today, its detailed paint applications, articulation, and sentimental value earned a score.
