The Fragile Components:
The Leg Action Knobs: This is the most critical and common issue. The two leg action knobs on the back of the walker, which you twist to make the legs "walk," are extremely prone to snapping off. The plastic becomes brittle over time, and the constant stress of the twisting action often causes them to break at the base. It is incredibly difficult to find a Scout Walker with both knobs intact and functional.
The Gun Turrets: The small, single-barreled blasters on the sides of the head are also easy to break off. They can snap at the base, and once they're gone, it leaves a very noticeable hole in the side of the head.
The Gun on the Chin: The "chin gun" is a separate piece that is also often missing or broken. It’s a very small part that can easily fall out and get lost.
When evaluating a Scout Walker, the most important thing to check is the condition of the two leg-action knobs. A seller's description might say "working," but it's essential to see clear photos of those knobs to ensure they haven't been broken and re-glued.
